BBB has been around for more than 100 years and are a trusted industry standard in the confidence needed to choose a company to do business with. Most businesses will say the first step is to contact the BBB about making decisions on product purchases and services. In today’s world, even more than in the past, people want assurance from a reliable third party. Someone they can trust, not from friends or even other businesses or outdated brochures or websites. BBB reviews are accessed millions of times per year. Their website is a one stop shop for trust and accreditation for almost any registered business. One reason it works so good is that people are more than willing to be honest about either a good or bad experience they may have had with a particular business. Since the truth is the truth there will be multiple entries on any business that say the same thing. This is what consumers will be looking for; it’s that testimonial that sells people. But it is not just for consumers, it is also for employees as well. Someone looking for a job may be wondering what the reviews are for a company and the supervisors there.

Having a BBB accreditation means that business agrees to these standards: Build Trust, Advertise Honestly, Tell the Truth, Be Transparent, HonorPromises, Be Responsive, Safeguard Privacy and Embody Integrity.

This forces businesses to be better, more honest and to sincerely think about their business standards and practices. This in turn builds trust, grows your business and makes you a recognizable company that is known for their integrity, honesty and trustworthiness. This will also reduce scams. Consumers have a limited amount of money they can spend and so ethical companies know that if they can help keep the bad businesses out, their business will prosper because of this.

People work very hard for their money. Business should not be any different; therefore they should be full of integrity and trustworthy. It is not that hard to do. What you do and how you live will come back to you. When it comes back around it’s always worse. Not to mention, word of mouth can make or break a business. Having the BBB icon on your door, website or business card eliminates the worry and question of if a business is a reputable one or not.
